I was just wondering why the late models that usually run at rtr are being given 50 points for showing up Friday but not running the race for points, but the bombers are running a regular points race. This doesn't seem right. With the number of bombers expected this week, some of the local drivers that show up and support the track week after week are surely going to be caught up in some sort of trouble and not be able to finish the race. Then they would lose their points position because of drivers that will never come to Rocky Top again. I think it would be fair to also give the bomber drivers 50 points for being there but not have the race run for points. Please reply. Thanks.

Good question, that is what the board is for is to ask questions such as that.
The reason why the Late Models will get 50 show up points is because it is a sanctioned race for them. When the AMRA Road Warrior Tour came in 2006, we gave the Modifieds show up points also. The "Bomber Bash 25" is an unsanctioned show, so that is why they will get full points. Our "Summer Sizzler 40" Late Model show back in June was unsanctioned so it was a full RTR points race.
I hope that helps to answer your question. Just remember, if the race is sanctioned we will do show up points but if it is unsanctioned (though matter how large the race may be) it will be a full points race.
