What does everybody think of this class? I believe it will be a great class as these cars get some good speed and really put on some great, side by side action. These are very neat race cars and also economical.

I don't know how popular this class is going to be. Afterall, there is noone else around here that I'm aware of that races this class. So, it's a pretty big leap of faith to build or buy one of these cars hoping that RTR will #1. Have enough to field a show every week. #2. Continue to carry this class 2-3 years from now. RTR had a tough time fielding a weekly show of 6 cyl., and those cars are relatively inexpensive to run. Of course, that class was killed by a few cars that were nowhere near "stock" coming to RTR, being allowed to race, and then dominating the guys who were there week in and week out in purely stock cars.

The Mod Lite class is actually ran weekly at 35 Raceway just a little outside of Chillicothe, Ohio and I-77 Motorsports Park just a little bit outside of Ripley, West Virginia.

That's super. I wasn't aware. I hope RTR can pull a bunch of them in.

RTR is missing the point of having a support class. The reason for the six cyl class is to cheaply get people into racing. This class lets them try it and brings more new fans to the sport. Look at it this way if you were new to the sport would you want to spend $600 to try it out or would you want to speed 5k. The reason that you could not build any car count is because of the non stock cars in the class. I know of 4 different drivers that would not run RTR because of that.

Bomber, I think Willard had like 12-15. That deal though had ridiculous pit fees and entry fees and a purse that was not guaranteed.
These cars get pretty good speed too as they go as fast as a slower Modified or a fast Bomber.

I THINK THE MGT. AT RTR IS DOING A GOOD JOB, AFTER ALL YOU HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING NEW TO GET THE FANS INTO IT. ALL THE 6CYL. GUYS KEPT SAYING THEY WAS GOING TO RACE THERE AND NEVER SHOWED, SO THEY DROPPED THE CLASS AND THEN THE 4CYL. GUYS KEPT SAYING THEY COULD GET 15 TO 20 EVERY FRIDAY AND WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT WENT. DOESNT HURT TO TRY SOMETHING NEW, IF YOU CAN GET A CLASS TO KEEP THE FIELD IN THERE EVERY FRIDAY, I SAY GO FOR IT. I THINK IT WILL BE EXCITING .

i agree with that 100% there is no sense in running a fourth class with 4-5 cars racing in that class, i personally wouldnt even want to take my car to the track knowing your only going to race one time and that would be it for the night

The Mod Lite class is a growing class and as I said, I believe it is a class that everybody will enjoy watching.
Veteran Mod Lite racer Mike Weaver has done a lot of help in talking to several drivers for us. The Mod Lites will make what is already a great weekly program of Late Models, Modifieds, and Bombers even better.
