Dillow Finishes 6th in the “GCP Twin 30’s”
5/18/09
Ashland, KY- “Breadman” Carl Dillow driver of the Racers In Christ, I Believe Foundation, Bearing Precious Seed, Joy FM 98.3 Late Model finished sixth in the Late Model portion of the “GCP Twin 30”s” at Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, OH. to get his fourth top ten of 2009. After heavy rains washed “Iceman” Bo Howard out last week, he was ready for action Saturday night at Willard Speedway in Willard, KY. With rain in the area Bo and the Highway 92.3 team never got to unload the Racers In Christ, Hi-Tech Racing Engines, Highway 92.3 Late Model.
On Friday, Tony was in Louisa, KY, hosting their weekly program “Racers In Christ Running the Race Of Life On The Highway” from 5-6 PM. Tony’s special guests via telephone were Track and Series promoter, Rocky Estep and TJ Layne, Promoter of RTR, with the weekly “Rocky Top Round-up” segment.
“I really enjoyed our interview. Rocky is a friend of mine and brother in Christ. It was my pleasure having him on the program, and as always TJ did a fine job with the “Rocky Top Round-up” said Tony.
While Tony was in the studio, Carl was at Rocky Top passing out Roses to the first 100 mothers that came through the gate.
“We had planned this for Mothers Day weekend and got rained out, so we did it this week. I want to thank Country Garden Florist and Gifts, Southern Ohio Sports Photos, Pro Star Design, and Les Boggs for helping us out with the roses. This was just a small token of appreciation for the mothers in the racing community from Racers In Christ,” stated Carl.
R.I.C. also had the Ministry booth setup at RTR passing out Bibles and candy to the children. Marty and Thomas Scott were there for the first time and had a great time talking to and meeting the fans.
“We want to thank everyone at RTR for allowing R.I.C. to be part of their racing events,” Tony said.
After passing out roses to the mothers, Carl headed to the pits for an evening of racing. Carl would qualify ninth to earn the inside of row three in the first of two heat races. Carl would finish sixth and start on the inside of row six in the eleventh starting position. After thirty laps of action as the checker flag flew, Carl had moved the Racers In Christ, I Believe Foundation, Bearing Precious Seed, Joy FM 98.3 Late Model up to the sixth finishing position.
“We had a pretty good car tonight. Due to all the rain we have had lately, the track was really rough and that is to be expected. Our goal was to finish and that’s what we did. A lot of good cars were torn up, but we made it through the race with no problems,” stated Carl.
On Saturday Tony, Jesse, and Jesse Lee headed to O’Brion Oval Speedway in Servia, WV for the very first time. They set up the Ministry booth and had a wonderful time meeting friends.
“We want to thank Bill for inviting us and for all the fans for making us feel welcome. We were able to share Jesus with several people and are so excited about our future trips to O’Brion,” said Jesse.
