Rocky Top Raceway signs with AMRA; Adds new sponsors
By: T. J. Layne
COAL GROVE, OH-The Rocky Top Raceway is proud to announce a multi-year agreement with the American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) that will see the RTR Modified class AMRA sanctioned for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons. This agreement will now make Modified drivers at RTR eligible for over $33,000 in points fund money and thousands of more dollars in contingency awards.
“All of us at RTR are very excited to be part of the AMRA once again”, stated RTR promoter T. J. Layne. “The AMRA is doing great things for the Modified class and we feel it is very important to have RTR a part of it. We believe our drivers will benefit greatly from the points fund and believe our fans will benefit from what should be increased car counts and opportunities to see many of the AMRA’s best drivers.”
The AMRA Modified sanctioning will see a few changes to the 2010 Modified rules. A tire rule will now be in effect for all races as the new Hoosiers and old style D40 Hoosiers will now be the only tires allowed. All drivers will also have to pay a $60 AMRA membership fee that is good for all 2010 races at all AMRA tracks or pay a $15 temporary license fee which is good for one race. After four temporary licenses are purchased, the driver will then be an official AMRA member and start receiving points. The best 20 AMRA finishes will count in the National points championship. Drivers can receive AMRA points at any of the 11 AMRA sanctioned tracks.
Rocky Top Raceway would also like to welcome Hoosier Racing Tire, Hoosier Racing Tire Ohio Valley, and Dave Poske’s Performance Parts as the newest track sponsors. Hoosier Racing Tire will now be the official tire of Rocky Top Raceway. Please visit www.hoosiertire.com and www.poske.com to learn more about these great sponsors.
“We are thrilled to have Hoosier/Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley and Poske’s Performance Parts on board as sponsors”, stated T. J. Layne. “Hoosier has the reputation of building the best tires in the industry and Mr. Poske has done a ton to promote racing in our region. It’s great to have great companies and great people like these associated with the track.”
Rocky Top Raceway management is continuing to work hard to prepare for what should be the most exciting season in track history in 2010. The track will have several exciting announcements that will be made during the month of January, including the release of the very diverse and very exciting 2010 schedule. RTR wishes everybody a merry Christmas and reminds everybody to check our website at www.rockytopraceway.net often after the first of the year to keep up on the exciting forthcoming announcements.
