I fill that if a track has a set of rules they should enforce them 100% an not let a select few run what they want i know 5 drivers who have sold their bombers because of this problem something has to be done before their is no bombers. Also i agree with dirttrackindunn every race their should be a tech man on the track after each feature an tech the top three from back to front front to back no matter whos car or driver.

Let me make a comment here.
The Bombers are being teched as best as they can. It's unfortunate, but guys are always going to cheat and you can't always catch everything. We have sent cars home before and will continue to do that to cars we catch cheating. It is unrealistic though to expect a Nascar type inspection. RTR nor any other local track has those kinds of resources.
I watched Bombers at 8 different tracks this season. In my opinion, RTR has the fairest playing field of all of those tracks. The number of different winners, number of different drivers in the top five, and number of guys who are capable of winning prove that. At the majority of tracks, only 2 drivers are truly capable of winning the feature event.

I agree with you Layne. The tech man at Rocky Top does what he can. He checked all the bombers every week before the races started. However I do think it would be a good idea to check the top 3 cars after the feature because it's too easy to switch carbs and some people probably do that.
Another problem I see is the pill draw. Certain people drew more than one pill for more than one car, took the best pill for themselves, and then the other cars wouldn't even show up. This happened about every week. You can look back at the sheets if you still have them and see this.
I'm not sure what car the posts on here are complaining about but I know for sure that the car that won the most features last year was legal every week. I also know that one of the complainers had a car sent home last year because if wasn't legal. Go figure.

Yes, the tech man does look at the cars believe it or not. He's even been spotted crawling on his back a few times to look for stuff that wasnt supposed to be there. Like i said in another post, i believe only thing he lets slide is if he feels it'll make the car/driver safer, not faster...
Layne is right, go to Portsmouth and you always know who is going to win there every week...

if you want to compare rtr to ports. tech, ill tell you this we got teched a few times on just the carb, not wheels, not aluminum bodies, none of that, we went to ports. and the tech man literally climbed through and under the car, he didnt do it every week, it was at random but everybody got it, i know they got it because i watched him do it

I was only tech'd one time at PRP. They just simply walked around the car, stuck there head inside the drivers window then went on there way....hood was never taken off.

yeah i wish they would either tech every body or not even tech at all i dont care but they should treat every body egual it dont matter we got good stuff and we are competative so it dont matter it would be nice to stop the top 3-5 on the track right after the races and tech them before any winnings are given like they use to do

[ TJ,,I think the bomber class heas gotten way "out of hand". The best possible solution I can see is to make 2 separate classes. one -pure stock with the original 16 inch vacuum rule and no frills for the beginning drivers.another open rule class where the guys can run modified links, jack bolts, bert trannys,[maybe even quick change rear ends],msd ignitions, etc. This would be the true "outlaw class".The last time i saw a pure stock class was at "Jackson Speedway"ran by Landrum. You would bew surprised just how many new drivers who won't even try because of all the "Big Dogs",like hughes, bretz Dunn and quite a few more are so high dollar drivers a" newbie "has no chance to even stay on the same lap . It would be interesting to see a pure stock class offered for next year, and just see how many guys[and spectators] would come to try this new deal

This seems to be a highly debatable topic within the local racing community. I personally think that the Bomber class at RTR is one of the most competitive and most fun to watch of all the local tracks( PRP, KC, Moler, Willard, etc) and with the new rules this season it should be even more fun to watch. I also do agree that it is harder for teams on a low budget to compete with the "Big Guns", but you also have to take this into consideration when you choose the build the car. As for changing the name of the class, I agree with Layne on this, most local tracks and racers recognize the general rules from track to track in the class. As for teching the cars, I personally think that if a track held to its rules to strict in this class it will run people off, If your car is continually being disqualified for not being "Legal" then you are going to find somewhere else that will allow you to race. This is just my opinions on this subject. Thanks, Clayton Fraley
